The Right To Information (Amendment) Bill, 2019:
Lok Sabha has passed the Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2019 as on 22nd of July 2019. This RTI (Amendment) Bill, 2019, proposed to amend the Right to Information Act, 2005 so as to provide that the term of office of, and the salaries, allowances and other terms and conditions of service of, the Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners and the State Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information Commissioners (Sections 13, 16 and 27 of RTI, Act, 2005), shall be such as may be prescribed by the Central Government.
While participating in the debate in the Lok Sabha on the RTI, Bill, 2019, the Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, said that the Government is totally dedicated to transparency and accountability.
