INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
Question No. 1: Mr. Varun Kumar: How you would like to introduce yourself to our readers?
Answer Mr. Gaurav Sharma: I am Advocate Gaurav Sharma, having an experience of working in the Legal Industry from 2014. I am born and brought up in Delhi. I am a Legal Professional and an Entrepreneur building a Legal Tech Platform www.inkindialegal.com for the Indian and International Markets.
Question No. 2: Mr. Varun Kumar: Tell our readers something about your law school life?
Answer Mr. Gaurav Sharma: I am an Amity Law School, Amity University Rajasthan Alumni. I pursued a Five Year Integrated BBA- LLB course and graduated in the year 2014. I studied Criminology as a specialization in the final year of my law graduation at Amity.
Question No. 3: Mr. Varun Kumar: Why did you decide to choose law as a career?
Answer Mr. Gaurav Sharma: Being a son of a well-known lawyer my father Mr. Chander Shekhar Sharma had a practice of about three decades starting in Tis Hazari and other Trial Courts in Delhi, Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India. My mother Mrs. Madhu Sharma wanted me to become a Doctor but as I saw my father in the legal profession from the very young age I circumstantially landed up having the law as a career.
At the outset, it was a challenge for me to take his legacy forward. In 2013 when he passed away I was still in the Law School. I wanted to join my father’s office but couldn’t and I started appearing and litigating in the Trial Courts in Delhi and Delhi High Court and I took over some of the practice of my father at the trial court. If I would have joined and worked with my father, the wisdom that he owned for the legal profession, I must have been much calmer, wiser and knowledgeable as a lawyer in the legal profession that I am today.
I had learnt a lot from him, watching him dealing with the clients, negotiating and drafting various plaints and petitions. It created a constructive effect on me listening to the everyday stories of the case hearings and the appearances. I still take references of the drafting skills that I admire from the three decades of work that he has done and has left behind for me to take it forward.
I got married in 2016 to Aakanksha, also in the Legal Profession. We went to the same Law School and we both from the very starting of our profession wanted to be independent in our approach to the legal profession. We started from the trial courts in Delhi and went on to learn original side work done in the trial courts and the High Court in Delhi which made us the professionals that we are today.
